WOOOahH!!

holy shit! all the action has completely blown my mind, i love it. I'm not going to go to in depth here, but this was phenomenal. Only thing i think you should have done is set it auto-quality change in the more graphic intensive scenes, because there was some major framerate issues in parts. But GREAT WORK!!!

Get-lost responds:

That's a good idea. Thanks

I gave the lucky 7's!!!

I'm probably the 3rd or 4th reviewer to say this, but...oh well. Its making fun of phoenix wrong if you haven't noticed, its supposed to look & sounds like shit. And who the hell says phoenix wrong has great graphics & sound anyways?!?

Phoenix wrong is an easily made flash, even easier than a mario sprite movie. It steals audio clips from all over the place and matches it with some pixilated shots from the game...and they get rated 4+... Am i the only one who thinks this is bullshit, cheap, frontpage exposure? Oh wait, the author of this flash probably(i'm not putting words in your mouth) feels the same way.

I will be honest, graphics & sound are really shitty, but its so damn funny, that i love it!!!

There is more originality in this flash than all of the audio-clip driven, screen-shot slide show that is Phoenix Wrong...Good work :)

Starberry responds:

there may be more original audio and "artwork" in this but compared to my better stuff this is pretty bland but whatever it is intended to be bland

Very Entertaining, but...

like a few stated before me, this is nowhere near 500,000 frames. I believe someone said they decompiled it and it was around 2,600 frames. Not to mention, i believe there is a 16,000 frame limit in flash anyways. However, with that aside, it was very nicely done and the animation was very well blended with the video, good work!

AlmightyHans responds:

what i meant by that is i added the frames of other characters (each being one layer) and counted those as well, even though they are still pictures that move, i had tomove those frame by frame on my body as IT moved. i hope i explained myself better this time.

thanks for the review!

Are you going to start making salad fingers too?

I mean really, at least bunnykill changed it up a bit and isn't sporting the "madness" name. You should really come up with something a little more original... I know your going to flame me for this review, but i feel like you need to scrap the idea of making madness movies and leave it to Krinkles...

Now, after watching this, i would've thought you would make the enemys actually look like they wanted to kill him, instead they look like a bunch of retarded ragdolls that don't know what they are doing there. You even have the main character die & ressurrect like krinkles, you gotta find your own thing man... 2/5

Splurgle responds:

You should have read my previous responses. After the 5th, I'm done with Madness. I already have my next project planned out. This little series is an experiment.

And, thanks for taking the time to review.

Blockhead's "conscience" = "carl" from ATHF

You responded to one of your reviews with this:

"When I used to watch ATHF, I would quote Carl and have peopel tell me what a bad impersonation I do. Then I give a husky (not whiny) NY (not NJ) accent to an overweight gent, and then suddenly the two are EXACTLY alike. Haha, the world's not fair, is it? :D

Note: (I'll point out something I've said before because you claim not to have seen many of my other submissions) I have dated proof that my characters came before Carl (or even Adult Swim in its entirety, in fact), so maybe it is not I who has been influenced, but the other way around? Eh? Eh?? I even had to "un-Carl" the Conscience by removing his original wifebeater and sandals concept. Me: 0, World: 2"

I just wanted to know what proof you have of your "conscience" character being developed before carl from ATHF, because i find that really hard to believe, go watch your first one again, i'm not sure how long its been since you watched it, but the whole carl thing shows bigtime in that one. I've mentioned this before in another blockhead review or 2, but if you would just admit where you got the idea for the character from, i wouldn't keep rambling on about it. So please, i must see the proof that the voice, illustration & attitude were developed before ATHF. Other than that, great artwork/animation, not my kind of comedy, but still very very good...

The-Swain responds:

What is this, a witch hunt? At least you commented on the cartoon instead of just pulling this habeas corpus crap. This isn't a court of law ("thank you, judicial system!" haha).

All my life, I've had little ideas of my own just randomly show up in games and movies some time later. Let me give you as few instances.

Example #1: that Vazequez guy that does Invader Zim? The first five frames of one of his Happy Noodle Boys comics is an exact replica of one of my 1993 signed and dated Blockhead comics. It's almost creepy, because I seriously doubt that he stole his ideas from a middle schooler, and I didn't even hear about JTHM or HNB until '98, when my cousin noticed how identical they were and showed me.

Example #2: When I was like 8 or so, my little friends and I used to draw Mario. A LOT. We loved Nintendo, but who didn't? Anyway, before the Super Nintendo was even invented, I had this sweet idea for Mario to ride on the back of this frog creature that could use his tongue to pick up objects and devour enemies. Hmmm...sound like another Mario character you know? One that did not come around for another year or two? Sadly, all of my childhood art has been lost and I have no proof of this (other than witness testimony, but screw it).

Anyway, the proof I do have is a rough concept and original script for a "Graphic Novel" I wanted to do in 2000. The old Conscience was thin and VERY old, but I made the "new" Conscience fat when it occorued to me that all he has left is this world is his love of vice, and because heroin and cocaine would be a little rough on a "clean" cartoon, I figured it would be drinking instead.

Oh yeah, and as for the voice, I got that from my days listening to the Jerky Boys, which I will freely admit. They were my inspiration for doing my own voice acting.

P.S. - My mother, who has seen ATHF, thinks that the Conscience resembles my father. Haha.

Sticks... again....

cool story based around sticks...blood looks good, weapons look good. If its a stick movie, at least animate it, nobody wants a stick slide show....

Get-lost responds:

kk

I'm rating Rtil's animation, the others are trash.

The reason i'm rating this one so highly is because of Rtil's work, its well done, funny, and the voice overs are fucking perfect. I believe you should have submitted this by yourself, the others are trash compared to this. I personally believe the overall score would be in the 4.05 - 4.20 range had you submitted solo. Great work Rtil, and you other guys....okay...stuff... i guess...

Starberry responds:

why must you be such a nobody

One Word - Accurate

This is a little excessive as far as the violence and all the "cunts" he was.... Wait, no... thats about accurate :) Cocaine is a hell of a drug, lol, and i dont know if you've been around a coke head but, that is EXACTLY what they evolve to, same with meth heads & crack heads, which crack is just dirty rocked up coke anyways... Anyways, i like this, it deserves a better score, you have a good imagination and it shows in your work (gerbils on opium, love it) keep up the good work my friend

ApocalypseCartoons responds:

oh yeah. i've met people on all kinds a stuff. and some of them were me.
thanks,
dean

Its...madness...again...

Its not bad, nice presentation and everything...but madness is really getting old...time to come out with something new. Its kind of fucked up stealing someones concept too, not that your the first to do it or anything though...

Splurgle responds:

I know. MC 6 is coming today and it'd rub your face against a wall.

Well...

If it had been funny, that might have made up for the fact that the fat guy looks and acts way too much like carl from ATHF, And you seem to deny it in your reviews as if you don't see the similarities. This is what you responded with in a review:

"It's strange: the more that people watch this, the more I hear that people relate the Conscience to Karl - all they've got in common is a Northern voice and a weight problem"

He sounds like hes trying to hard to sound like carl, he also puts his hand over his face like carl does when hes frustrated, hes bald, and his voice is a little raspy, hes a ripoff. It wouldn't bother me so much if you would just admit where this character derives from, instead you choose to act as if its just "so crazy" how people think he sounds like carl. I do happen to like the blockhead character, even though hes stupid as hell. Just my 2 pennies...

The-Swain responds:

While I do appreciate the review, I do have a problem with the logic. You're telling me that if two things are similar, that one has to be a ripoff? I ran into a person the other day who was an exact lookalike of my friend's girlfriend. I said hello to her and cracked some joke about ignoring me, but when she turned and asked "Excuse me?", I knew it wasn't her. Yet I refused to believe it. I repeated what I said, but then I just ran off before she could respond. They were bleeding identical. I have never been so confused.

Moral of the story: I guess two identical things can never exist apart from one another. That girl totally ripped off my friend's girlfriend, didn't she?
